Harry "Ed" Brill, Jr.
1947 - 2011
Harry "Ed" Brill, II, died February 10, 2011 at his home
Southeast of Fayette. He was 64. Ed was born January 25, 1947,
the son of Ruth Brill and the late Harry E. Brill.
He was the owner of Sunoco Gas Station and Garage in New
Village, NJ before starting his farming career. While Farming in
1981, he received New Jersey’s No Till Farmer of the Year award
for his farming practices. He also had a successful buying and
selling grain business in New Village until 1996. In 1992 he
bought his Missouri farm and in 1996 he began farming it as well
as starting a grain business.
Ed was a mentor and friend to all those that knew him. His
life goal was always to be a teacher and mentor to his fellow
farmers. His passion was farming and he considered himself a
steward of the earth.
Survivors: Partner and Soul mate, Kathleen "Sue" Gruver,
children, son, De-J and wife, Patty, Mike and Chris, June and
Mark. Grandchildren: Brandon, Jodie and Amanda, Michael and
Alex, Andrew, Elizabeth and Jodie Lynn, mother, Ruth Brill,
sisters, Barbara and Ed Meshach, Beverly and Vern Ford, and
Brother, Charles Brill.
Ed was preceded in death by daughter Jodie Lynn and father
Harry E. Brill.
Services for Mr. Brill will be at 12 pm, Wednesday, Feb. 16,
2011 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Matson
officiating. Visitation will be from 9am-12pm before the
service. Memorials may be made to Smith Chapel in care of
Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy 5 & 240 N., Fayette,
MO 65248.
