Harold Meyer

1930 -2011

 

Saline County resident Harold Walter Meyer passed away June 9, 2011at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Fayette.  He was 80 years of age.

 

Mr. Meyer was born October 9, 1930 near Gilliam , MO to Barnard and Katherine Haskamp Meyer.  He attended Gilliam School . From 1952 to 1954 he served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Harold loved to farm, fish and hunt.

 

Survivors include his brother, Vincent and sister, Dorothy Meyer both of Gilliam, one nephew and three nieces, and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Irvin and Richard.

 

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow with Rev. James Crooks officiating.  Visitation was 6 to 8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.  Burial was in Washington Cemetery with Heath and Jarred Meyer, Larry and Kyle Vukadin, Ed Gerlt and Ronnie Lessly serving as pallbearers.
