Irma Linneman passed away at Golden Living Center in Glasgow on
October 2,
2011. She was 100 years of age.
Irma Sophie Linneman was born in Forest Green, MO on September
8, 1911 to Louis and Sophie (Kothe) Freese. She attended and
graduated 8th grade from Salem Lutheran School. On November 12,
1931 Irma married Orin Fred Linneman at Salem Lutheran Church.
He preceded her in death on April 7, 1984.
Mrs. Linneman was a devout member of Salem Lutheran Church her
entire life. She will be remembered for being an avid
seamstress and great cook. She would prepare food whenever
there was a need and on occasion, she would make a dish for the
local pastor. Orin and Irma owned and operated a pecan business
for a number of years in the Chariton County bottoms. Her
caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Irma is survived by two daughters, Loretta (Bill) Gebhardt of
Salisbury, MO and
Shirley (Bob) Manlove of Kansas City, MO, 7 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Besides
her parents and
husband, Irma was preceded in death by one sister, Selma Rohwer,
three brothers, Rudolph, Victor, and Martin Freese, one son,
Gary, one great-grandson, Bobby Mason, and one granddaughter,
Connie (Manlove) Soden.
Services for Mrs. Linneman will be 11AM, Saturday, October 8,
2011 at Salem
Lutheran Church in Forest Green with Pastor Laurence Carlson
officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A Visitation will be
held 6-8pm
Friday evening at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel in Glasgow.
