Jane Holtwick
1933 – 2011


Long time Glasgow resident and business woman, Jane Holtwick passed away on
November 25, 2011 at Boone Hospital Center. She was 78 years of age.

She was born on January 19, 1933 in Electra, TX to Theo and Bonnie (Wilson)
Youree. Jane was raised in Electra and graduated from high school there in
1950. She received an Associate’s Degree from Ranger Junior College in Ranger,
TX. After college, Jane served in the United States Air Force as an Airman III.

Jane married James F. Holtwick on September 25, 1953 in San Antonio, TX. In the
early years of their marriage they resided in Vallejo, CA., Alexandria, VA., and
towns in Texas including Jacksborough, Graham, and Iowa Park, before moving to
Glasgow, MO in 1964. Glasgow is where they raised their four sons, Jim, Mike,
David, and Jeff. Jane managed the family business, Holtwick Plumbing in Glasgow
for over 40 years. Jane was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Council of
Catholic Women and Daughters of Isabella. She was active with the Glasgow
Chamber of Commerce and also served on the Glasgow City Variance Board.
Nothing was more important to Jane than her family. She is survived by three
sons, Jim and Jeff Holtwick of Glasgow, David and wife Nancy Holtwick of
Fayette, eight grandchildren, Sara, Claire, Kelsey, Scott, Cory, Theo, Drew and
Ryan and ten great-grandchildren, as well as a sister, Shirley Martinez of
Wichita Falls, TX and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband,
Jane was preceded in death by one son, Mike, who passed away on May 3, 2011.
Visitation was held 6-8pm on Sunday, November 27th, 2011 at Friemonth-Freese
Funeral Home in Glasgow with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian
Burial was held 10 AM, Monday, November 28th, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
with Fr. Richard Frank officiating. Burial was held at Washington Cemetery in
Glasgow.
