Katharine Alexander

1915 - 2011

 

Long time Fayette resident R. Katharine Alexander, passed away March 22, 2011 at Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was 95 years of age.

Mrs. Alexander was born November 30, 1915 near Boonville, MO to Robert Kelly and Ruth McMahan Kueckelhan. The oldest of seven children, Katharine graduated from Boonville High School in 1934. She married Harold Bradley Alexander December 2, 1934 in Marshall, MO and he preceded her in death in November 8, 1976. For most of her life, Katharine was a homemaker with her interest centered around her home and family. She was a skillful bridge player and loved to entertain. She was a member of Linn Memorial United Methodist Church, the Ganador and 1:15 Bridge Clubs and the LTS Club. She was in charge of the lunch program for the Fayette School system and also was a loving caretaker of young and old people alike for a number of years.

Survivors include two sons, Fred (Barbara) Alexander and Brad (Linda) Alexander of Fayette and Neil (John) Pulliam of St. Louis, MO, six grandchildren, Leslie (Frank) Foiles, Lynne Alexander, Leigh (Tom) Hilderbrand, Rick (Shelby) Alexander, James Alexander and Tucker Pulliam and special friends, Allison Brown, Julie and Garth Menees, two brothers, Phil (Joan) Kueckelhan of Fayette and Raymond (Roberta) Kueckelhan of Boonville and one sister, Joan (Vernon) Booker of Speed, MO and eight great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.

A graveside service will be 11 AM, Friday, March 25, 2011 in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette with Rev. Eric Moore officiating.
