Kathyran Boggs

1912 – 2011

 

 

Marjorie Kathyran Boggs passed away at Golden Living Center in Glasgow on March 14, 2011.  She was 98.

 

Kathyran was born on August 24, 1912 to Harley and Nellie Conner Holst in Versailles, MO.  She attended school at Gravois Mills, MO. On Jan. 14, 1935 she married Joseph Edgar Boggs in Boonville.  He preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1982.  Kathyran was a devout member of the Boonesboro Christian Church and a homemaker who loved to quilt, make rugs and garden. In her later years she assisted elderly people in need as a part of the Green Thumb Organization.

 

She is survived by four sons; Joseph Boggs Jr. of Franklin, MO, Kenny Boggs of Wright City, MO, Harry Boggs of K.C., MO, and Henry “Earl” Boggs of Franklin, MO, four brothers; David, R.C., and Dewey Holst of Fayette, MO and Daniel Holst of Burr Oak, MI, one sister; Tiny Burchard of Sturgis, MI, and 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

 

Besides her parents and husband, Kathyran was preceded in death by five brothers; John, Jack, Wils, Dolcey, and Noah (Nine) Holst, three sisters; Nell Hendrix, Nick Vanskike, and Naomi Holst; one daughter Kathyran Collins and one grandson Barry Joe Boggs.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Boggs will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at Boonesboro Christian Church with Rev.  Roger McMurry officiating and Dan Crowley, Phillip Salmon, Steve Shipp, Jim and Jay Hull, and Richie Cooper serving as pallbearers. Burial will follow service at Boonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be Thurs. March 17, 6-8 PM at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow.
