Marian Creason
died July 19 in Boise, Idaho. Born in 1922, Marian celebrated
her 89th birthday on July 3rd.
Born in
Grinnell, Iowa, Marian’s parents, Ray and Rilda Collet moved to
Chariton County when she was a young girl. She attended
Richardson Grade School and Salisbury High School.
Possessing a
lifelong appreciation for education, she was an avid reader
enjoying drama and historical novels. A member of the Glasgow
United Methodist Church, she enjoyed contributing home baked
pies and quilts for fund raising events. Marian was an
accomplished seamstress and a self-taught quilter. All of her
family and extended family members are proud recipients of her
beautiful quilts.
Marian and Allen
Creason were married January 19, 1940. Married 66 years, Allen
preceded her in death in 2006. Also preceding her in death
were four sisters, four brothers and her grandson, Mark
Stallman.
Their children,
Wayne and Lois reside in Scottsdale, AZ and Boise, Idaho
respectively. Her granddaughter, Kim Creason O’Hare lives in
West Orange, N.J. and grandson, Steven Stallman lives in Boise.
She has three great-great grandchildren, Zachary and Stephanie
Stallman and, Michaela O’Hare.
Services will be
August 6, 2011 at the Evangelical United Brethren Chapel in
Glasgow, MO at 1:00 PM.
Memorial
donations may be made to a scholarship fund at Truman State
University to be awarded to a Salisbury or Glasgow student.
